I've had the great privilege of witnessing a couple more adoptions in the past few weeks. It never gets old to see the joy both on the child's face (as they meet their forever family for the first time) and on the family's face (as they meet their child, who they've fought for, waited for, saved for, prayed for, sacrificed for, advocated for, redeemed- for the first time).
This Christian family (from Idaho) is adopting from Ecuador for the second time. Pray for them (the parents, siblings, and S.) as they all face many changes and transitions. Though adoption is an event filled with joy, it is not easy! It's a labor of love.

| The kids don't interact with too many men at the orphanage so S. was especially excited to meet her Papi. |
| There's always time for dancing!! |
| Love this! So typical of her :) |
| How precious is she!? |
| S. said goodbye to each of her little friends, her tias, and here her psychologist. |
| S. grew up from infancy here at FHC. It was important for her to be able to say goodbye to each tia, those who were her mothers for so many years. |
| Love this picture! So symbolic. |

Pray for the children who are still waiting for forever families. I heard one child ask at S.'s goodbye party, "Where are my Papis? Are they coming today? When will my goodbye party be?" Though every adoption is a celebration, it's also another loss for those children who continue to wait for their Papis. Pray that God might comfort their little hearts, hear their prayers, and that their forever families (wherever they might be) would be faithful to God's call to adoption.
Psalm 10:17-18 "Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them. You will bring justice to the orphans and the oppressed, so mere people can no longer terrify them." Psalm 68:6 "God sets the lonely in families..." |
This family is from here in Ecuador, adopting for the first time. When I was here at FHC for 3.5 months in 2012, F. was the youngest child at the orphanage. How fun to have witnessed so much of her growing up and to see her meet her Papis for the first time. Pray for these new parents as they adjust to being parents for the first time!
| F. back in the beginning of 2012. How sweet! |
| Don't you love that look!? Precious! |
F., we are praying that God might richly bless you, teach you of his forever love for you, protect and guide you. Most of all we are praying that you might know your Heavenly Father, who adopted you, purchased you with his blood, that you might live in eternity with him. You are treasured!
